Although Black Friday - the day on which retailers slash prices on items across a huge range of categories - doesn't actually take place until Friday, November 25th (with Cyber Monday taking place the following Monday), many retailers are launching their Black Friday sales a week early. Some have even started already!
If you're a Leeds-based shopper with an eye for a bargain, these are some of the retailers you should check out before their sales end in order to save money in the run up to Christmas. If you can, check for discounts on the retailers' websites as well as heading into their stores as more and/or different sales can often be found online.
Starting on Friday, November 18th, Amazon's Black Friday Week will enable shoppers to save as much as 65% on some items, with products including laptops, perfumes, headphones, jewellery, hoovers, candles, video games and mattresses all on sale, as well as many, many more.
One of the UK's most popular department stores is already offering Black Friday discounts across a range of brands, with tech, clothing, homeware and beauty products all featuring prominently.
John Lewis usually adds more offers over the extended Black Friday period but its latest bargains include as much as 40% off kitchenware specialist Le Creuset, as much as 30% off both Barbour and Ted Baker products and up to £200 off selected Samsung TVs.
John Lewis isn't the only retailer in Leeds' Victoria Quarter taking part in Black Friday - household fashion brands like Gant, Moda in Pelle and Kurt Geiger are all getting involved too, with as much as 50% off some items.

With several branches in and around Leeds and both Black Friday and pre-Black Friday deals to be had, Argos is sure to attract bargain hunters in their droves over the coming weeks.
Not only will savings be available on sport and leisure products, DIY equipment, bikes, speakers and more, Argos also enables customers to sign up for Black Friday email updates and collect Nectar points while shopping.
Although its sale is only taking place for 24 hours on Black Friday itself and no indication has yet been given as to what items will be reduced, if it's tech or appliances you're after then you'll definitely want to keep an eye on the Currys website and set some time aside to visit your local branch on the 25th.
With most retailers taking part in Black Friday these days, the next couple of weeks offer lots of opportunities for shoppers to get a headstart on their Christmas shopping while also saving a significant amount of money, so keep checking your favourite retailers' websites and storefronts to find out what they have to offer.
