Paul was appointed as Chairman of LCU in March 2024 and brings nearly 30 years of financial services experience to the role.
Formally Group Managing Director and Executive Director at OneSavings Bank Group, he previously held senior roles with Banks and Building Societies including Charter Savings Bank, Shawbrook Bank, Kent Reliance, B&B, Santander, Yorkshire Building Society, HSBC, and First Direct. He now provides Board Advisory and Consultancy services to a variety of Startup and Challenger Banks, and Fintechs. Paul also serves on the Board of Directors with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau in Scotland, to champion the needs of the underserved and vulnerable.
Nicholas has been in financial services for over 16 years starting his career in a Credit Union in South Australia. From branch management, distribution and through to building financial products Nicholas has considerable experience in delivering products that will meet the needs of serving our members.
Nicholas currently works in the technology space supporting lenders utilise data to build and service financial products.
Mark is an experienced Non-Executive Director and senior executive with over 20 years’ leadership across financial services. Holding senior roles at organisations including Kensington Mortgages, Scope and esure, he brings a proven track record in strategic transformation, customer experience, digital innovation and operational resilience. A former SMF24 under the FCA’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime, Mark has led a range of governance programmes and has a deep understanding of the needs of member-based organisations.
Passionate about community finance, he is also a Director of DiversITy-Talent, a social enterprise supporting disability inclusion in the tech industry. He is a Chartered Engineer and a member of both the Institute of Directors and the British Computer Society.
Yalini is a Director and Senior Advisor at a financial advisory and global consulting firm, specialising in operational and conduct risk management, compliance and corporate governance, with over 20 years of professional experience spanning both in-house and consulting roles.
Yalini leads on the design and implementation of enterprise risk management frameworks, in addition to developing and embedding risk culture change programmes. She also leads regulatory examinations and investigations related to compliance to current and emerging regulatory requirements. Yalini has a postgraduate diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) from the International Compliance Association (ICA).
Simon is a Debt Advice Supervisor based in Leeds. He leads a free and confidential debt advice offering assistance for people who are struggling with debt, budgeting and have money worries. He has provided frontline advice for the last 10 years, covering topics such as benefits, debt and housing. Additionally, Simon is involved with the Leeds Debt Advice Network, a collaborative group of debt advisers and support services in Leeds.
In his spare time, Simon is a keen Leeds Rhinos fan and you can often find him on the terraces at Headingley.
Adrian has a 30-year career in financial services focused on compliance and risk management. He has held senior roles across life and pensions and banking sectors, most recently at HSBC, with responsibilities for conduct and group regulatory compliance policies globally.
He also spent a number of years in senior compliance roles supporting the recovery of Northern Rock and Co-op Bank. Before this, he spent several years in big 4 consulting advising and supporting numerous financial institutions after starting his career at a financial advice network.
Besides looking forward to supporting LCU, with more time on his hands, Adrian is looking to improve his golf handicap and work on a number of DIY and gardening projects at home in West Yorkshire.
Tina Turnbull is the former Chief Executive of People Matters, a Leeds-based disability organisation and charitable social care provider with approximately 350 members, staff and volunteers. She is also a governor of LYPFT, a local NHS trust and a Leeds City Council Inclusive Growth Ambassador. With a professional background in education and workforce development, Tina has held different board roles including being Chair of both Leeds City College and Leeds Citizens Advice.
Chris is the Club Exec (Managing Director) of Club Murray where he is responsible for 100 consultants who deliver digital products and cloud solutions for AND Digital’s clients across Yorkshire.
Chris has also been an active volunteer with the British Computer Society in West Yorkshire for the past 20 years.
Heather is a Registered Project professional and Change Management specialist, who has worked in the civil service for over 30 years. She also ran executive corporate decision making boards, Performance Board, Investment Committee and Departmental Audit and Risk committees, so understands what makes excellent governance.
This is her first Non Exec-Director role.
Tarun is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He held senior management roles with various financial services companies before returning to practice with Grant Thornton where he established a leading advisory practice focused on speciality lending businesses. In 2018 he established his own consulting business, TMA, which continues to offer financial services sector advisory services.
Raj is a qualified accountant with over 25 years of experience in Finance and Risk Management. Raj was instrumental in implementing effective risk management processes and financial controls for the PRA/FCA-regulated Citi UK Consumer Bank. Raj has also worked in many other areas, including transformation and regulatory policy.
Raj holds other NED and Board member positions including L&Q Homes and HTS Group. He also worked as a NED at both Breast Cancer Care and SignHealth, therefore bringing experience in the charity and care sectors. He has a Diploma in Corporate Governance and a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills. Raj is strongly committed to making everyone’s lives better

Lucia Morales-Gibney is a senior people leader with expertise in learning, organisational development, and change across corporate and not-for-profit sectors. Born in Spain, she champions fairness, inclusion, and thriving communities, always focusing on impact beyond profit.
Soon to be appointed as a magistrate in West Yorkshire, she brings lived experience and a BA in Sociology to her roles. At Leeds Credit Union, she supports financial wellbeing in ways that are human, helpful, and rooted in community. Outside work, she enjoys road trips with her partner and dogs, tending her chickens, and curating her free little library.
